I have always noticed this but i don't understand why this is. here is what i noticed.
At my local high school, (Shelton High) couples are all over each other during travel time between class, but at the collage their is really no on all over each other. (i know that people mature but in a year would people really change that much?)
This is kinda random but its what i noticed.

i think in college your source of identity shifts from "who you are with" to "what you are about".
that's just my perspective.
I think it has more to do with the fact the people are older, and in more serious relationships. A lot of the people at the college are married, and their spouse may or may not be at the college.
