Apple
The following is my report for English on a series of ads by apple.
Freedom
Apple has made the iPod a household name because of its ad campaign. The ads were something that the public had never seen before or witnessed before. You now see everybody with an iPod. Teenagers, junior high students, teachers, and even grandparents have became victim of Apples successful ad campaign. An average worker being released from his job, a girl who is empowered and ready to fight, and a women who is telling the world that it can wait, these images stir up emotions that tell us want iPod users feel; I want to be free from my job. I want to take on the world. I want to be able to the tell the world to stick it. According to Apple, if we want to be able to feel these emotions then we have to have an iPod. That is the promise that these ads tell us; the iPod will allow you to change your life to whatever you want or need your life to be. The iPod promises to give you freedom which is where the ad becomes problematic to the viewers. The consumers go into the mindset that the iPod can change your life for you, where in fact only you can change your life for you.
Freedom is something that everyone wants. Freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom to chose what to eat and drink, but we all want the freedom that we can’t have, the freedom of having to not work. We try to grasp onto that freedom by going on vacation or even using sick days just to relax. Unfortunately no one can be on vacation the whole time and that is where Apple steps in. Apple tries to show that work can be escaped from with the help of Apple’s iPod. The ad symbolizes freedom from work with the working man falling down, like he has been shot, showing that the mindless worker is dead or that his spirit has left the body. In the first frame, you see someone who is free, his jacket is unbuttoned, his collar loosened, and his hair released. The man in the image is at his freest. He has been released from the plain world of working (symbolized by the white background) and put into a world that promotes individuality (shown by the color background). The man, in the new world, is being empowered and is welcoming the change. With this ad in mind Apple is trying to show that individuality is expressed through your iPod.
Apple’s next ad doesn't show a transaction instead, it shows what the iPod can and will do. With the second ad a girl is standing with her first clinched in a threatening tone. Her head is in motion, which is shown by the hair in movement, displaying that she is looking at what her anger is focused at. The women is also holding her iPod at arms length away from the danger, symbolizing her wiliness to protect and even fight for the idea of what an iPod brings. The girl is also becoming empowered by the iPod, with her will to fight for her ideas. Her clothes help provide the idea of her being a young college age student, who is willing to fight for her beliefs. The clothes, which could be considered cool, help provide the idea that no outfit is complete with out the addition of an iPod. When the idea of change is introduced or something new, (iPod) people must be willing to defend that idea to the last.
Everyone has a bad day. There are days were we just want to be left alone. We just want to be able to escape to our own personal world and give the world the finger. This is exactly what girl is telling us what she is doing. Unlike the last ad, this women is looking away from her source of distraction. With there being no movement, the ad is suggesting that the women is taking it slow, nothing is going to rush her experience with her music. With her iPod close to her body telling the viewer the iPod is valued and not being threaten. The women’s hand is extended in a way to show that she is not to be disturbed. She has entered in a world which only the iPod can bring you to. A world of which is what ever you make of it. Nothing will distract her from her listening pleasure in her own little world. She knows and likes that she’s dead to the world.
The Apple iPod campaign is one of the most recognized ad’s on the planet. Every thing from its silhouetted people, to the small things that people don’t notice but take in. The iPod campaign is dangerous because it draws you promising emotions and feelings that iPod can‘t give by itself. The iPod itself cannot change your life for the better only you change your life. Only you can give yourself the freedom that iPod users seek.

The boycott is on
So this thanksgiving I had a lot of fun but where there are two things that stick out.
1. I did not have turkey this thanksgiving, instead I had ham. Why? don't really know, maybe because we should worship the turkey. or have on day just for the turkey? what about pig day, cow day or chicken day? I actually enjoyed boycotting turkey.
2. My uncle brought his Wii. It was awesome. some neat facts.
I am the baseball king
I suck at bowling
I suck at mini games
But i rule at real games.
I really like the wii, and found myself liking it more then my x-box. shooting games are awesome. I play red steel (good game) and medal of honor, while medal of honor was harder then any shooter game I play, I played my best ever.

Christmas?
So, there is something that really annoys me, probably more then any thing in the world, and that is Christmas. Not the holiday itself, but everything about the holiday. I hate the decorations that are before thanksgiving. I hate the Christmas lights that are up all year. And I really hate Christmas music. I can stand it about Dec. 10-25. But after Christmas the music most go off, and having music play before Thanksgiving, just makes me the quiet mad. Don't get me wrong i think that christmas is fun, but I just don't like it when people over do it.

recap
So this Saturday the mud bowl happened. I had a great time playing and really enjoyed playing the game. Playing at the mud bowl made me really miss playing in high school. We lost but I still had a lot of fun.
But while I was playing, I had a chip on my shoulder. Not that anyone put it there, it was from me. See I have applied for the united states naval academy and recently received a letter from the medical people that they had recommended me to not be accepted the naval academy. As most of you know I broke my arm pretty bad one time and well, they (the military) really doesn't like it. When I read that letter my heart kinda fell, in fact life was really crapping since then. I kinda felt like I failed. You know the feeling when you bomb a test? that's what I had, but it was for 5 days. and I never get those feelings. The only people that knew was my mom and pop. And well I feel better saying this. Still sucks but better.
Thanks for everyone who play this Saturday. I had a blast.

A knock out
So here is why my day was bad.
I woke up ready for the day. So far so good.
I get to drill at 6:20. Good
I then find out that my co is asking everyone if I talk smack about her. Bad
Then get accused of lying by my snsi. Bad
Snsi is backed by co. bad
Find out my co is talking smack about me. bad
Get to school late and teacher glares at me. Bad
That is the first part of my day, and it kinda went down hill from there. But lets fast forward to youth church. All this felt like sucker punches too.
Yesterday, Nate and I decided that Ben was going to run sound. After helping Ben get all ready for the night, I sat in the front. I don’t remember the last time that had gotten to sit in youth church with out having to worry about sound. And it was awesome. I had experienced worship at c3 in a way that I just about forgot about. Then we the worship came Gods voice. (Punch number dos, it was right to the face (like a haymaker)) I ask for forgiveness and I get back into the grove of worship again. Justin’s band was playing and I really enjoy them. Next came the talk by Pastor Gary. I really like his talk, in fact I would say it was the best talk in youth church this year, (comes a close second after the permission talk). His talk was on intimidation. I really liked on how we broke up in a small groups to talk to over. I jumped in to the group discussion and for the first time in my life I couldn’t communicate my thoughts. Everything I said came out wrong. Then it hit me.(here came the knock out punch) God was telling to shut up and listen. While partaking in the discussion I was missing out what I needed to hear. At the end, the light clicked on and I realized I was intimidated. I am intimidated to the point where it rules my life. I let others make my decisions by not wanting to be who I want to be. I was being intimidated by people who don’t even know me. I will try to write more about this later.

Today
Today is one of those days.
You know the day that you spill coffee on your self.
That you fail a test.
You lose your job.
You get a speeding ticket.
A day that never seems to end.
But I really did/am having a bad day.

Where has the time gone?
Where has the time gone? I remember being little and not having to worry about time. Now I worry about all the time. I feel so overwelmed that on days I just want to quit life. I have a friend who was getting burned out, left and right I see kids who are burning out. I found out that i get about 5 hours of sleep during the weekday. So this is my question, do we (teenagers) have to much to do? Are we killing ourselves because we overload our lives. Are we screwing ourselves over because what we are doing. And if so, are you adults the reason why we are doing it?

The images that are below, are fake. So i hate to say that i will not write about them for the reasons above.

A notice
I have always noticed this but i don't understand why this is. here is what i noticed.
At my local high school, (Shelton High) couples are all over each other during travel time between class, but at the collage their is really no on all over each other. (i know that people mature but in a year would people really change that much?)
This is kinda random but its what i noticed.
